Product Introduction
Insulin enters the blood circulation and acts on the various organs and tissues to regulate glucose metabolism. Insulin binds to its specific cell surface receptors, activates a complex signal transduction pathway, and eventually leads to the opening of cell surface channels that take up glucose from the blood stream. The end result is the lowering of the blood glucose level.
Any blockade or efficiency decrease in this signaling pathway will result in compromised insulin action, affecting insulin¡¯s ability to regulate blood glucose. This is called insulin resistance. To compensate the decreased insulin sensitivity, human body produces more and more insulin. This leads to hyper-insulinia. The sustained high insulin level in the blood have ***rimental effects on other metabolic processes, such as lipid metabolism and sex hormone metabolism.
